Grocery Stores in Lucaya and Freeport, Bahamas

Winn Dixie has hit the Freeport/Lucaya area! There is one just about one mile from Port Lucaya. Winn Dixie is open from 7:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. However on Sundays it is only open from 7am to 10am. On holidays it may not be open at all or may operate on Sunday hours. See the list of holidays. Of note is the fact that there is a pharmacy located next door to this store. Seahorse Pharmacy is open the same hours as Winn Dixie and you can fill prescriptions there. There is another Winn Dixie in downtown Freeport.

There is also a small grocery store on Coral Road which is open until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday called Food World Store. Food World does not have competitive prices. Moreover, there is a small general store called Cooper's which also has to go food and a gas station. This is located on Midshipman Road. They have everything from liquor to baby food. You would only patronize this store under limited choices. Their prices are very, very high. For fresh seafood aside from the grocery stores we recommend Butler Specialty Foods located on Yellow Pine Street (smaller version in Port Lucaya) or Lightbourne's Seafood on Queen's Highway, both in the Freeport area. You may also seek out returning fisherman for the catch of the day or crawfish (lobster), when in season.
